Banishing Spell

To be performed during a waning moon

The purpose of this spell is to rid yourself of negative influences
If you feel someone is exerting negative energy, you can banish that
energy with a spell similar to this one.

Tools:
heatproof container, or cauldron
black or white candle
basil and garlic
paper/black pen

Cast the circle
Invocation of the God and Goddess

Statement of Purpose:
I am here to banish negative influences from my life. Right now, [name]
is exerting an extremely negative force upon me. I ask for the God and
Goddess to assist me in banishing these forces and eliminating his/her
destructiveness.

Consecrate the cauldron as follows:
Sprinkle with salt water and recite:
In the name of the Lord and Lady I charge you to serve me within this circle
I clear you of all former influences and energies that you may be fit for the
workings of magick herein

Do the same with the candle.

On a piece of paper, write the full name of the person to be banished. Roll
up and tie with black string. Sprinkle with salt water and recite:
Thou creature of paper
By paper made, by paper changed
Thou art not paper, but thou art negative influences in (person to be bound)
So mote it be!

Light the black candle
Burn the paper in the candle, visualizing all negative power over you
vanishing in the flames and rising out of your world with the smoke.
Sprinkle basil and garlic over the flames and recite:
Blazing force of cleansing fire
Help me with this rite
By air and earth,
water and fire
So be you bound
With this rite
Your power takes flight
Sky and sea
Keep harm from me
Cord go round
Power be bound
Your negativity will no longer come my way
From henceforth, your power over me is banished.
So Mote it Be!

Let paper burn itself out while visualizing a healthy, positive
relationship with the person.

Thanking the God and Goddess
Release the Circle

Consecration of Chalice, Athame or Other Tool

Before these assembled spirits I bring (name type of tool) to be dedicated to the service of the Lady and Lord.
(Pass tool three times through smoke of the incense.)
By the power of air, be thou purified. Be thou dedicated to purity of thought and to harmlessness that all intentions for which thou art used may harm none and be for the good of all.
(Pass tool three times through or over the flame of the fire candle.)
By the power of fire, be thou purified. Be thou dedicated to purity of desire and to harmlessness that all goals which thou doest help achieve may harm none and be for the good of all.
(Take a few drops of water and sprinkle or dab on instrument.)
By the power of water, be thou purified. Be thou dedicated to purity of emotion and to harmlessness that all that thou shalt be used in a spirit of harmony, harming none and for the good of all.
(Touch instrument to the stone or salt in north quarter)
By the power of earth, be thou purified. Be thou dedicated to steadfastness and purity of purpose, that my will be achieved without wavering, with harm to none and for the good of all.
(If this is a chalice, present it first to the Lady, then to the Lord, if athame, reverse order. All other instruments use personal preference, but it is courtesy to present them to Her first.)

PRESENTATION FOR CHALICE: Lady Freya, Keeper of Femininity, bless this chalice. Let it be as Thy cauldron, a vessel of productivity that it may be worthy to dispense Thy bounty. Let it be used in Thy service and in the service of humanity. Let it be so bound that no harm may come of it to any being, but let it rather be an instrument of goodwill and understanding; of loving harmony. To Thy sacred self I dedicate this vessel, (name of vessel), that it and I may long be of service to Thee.
Lord Thor, companion to the Lady, champion of the Gods, bless this chalice and keep watch over it. Guard the works which come forth from it, that they ever be in the service of Thee and Thy Lady, that they be of service to humankind, and that they abide by the laws of harmony. To Thee I vow I shall use it for Her sacred purposes, and for no other.
So mote it be.

PRESENTATION FOR ATHAME: Lord Thor, thunderer & hammer wielder, bless this athame. Let it be as the spring rains which fall upon the Earth to cause Her to bring forth Her bounty.
Let it quicken my hopes and dreams, yet keep them from causing harm. Let it guide them in the harmony of the seasons, bringing forth only good for all. Lord Thor, bless this athame, (name of athame), that it be used ever in the worship and honor of the Gods.
Lady Freya, companion to the Thunderer, lover of the Gods, bless this athame that it shall bring forth joy, and shall cause no pain nor disharmony to any. I dedicate this athame (name athame), symbol of the Defender and Rain Maker, to Thy service. May it ever bring Thee joy and pride.
So mote it be

Charge of the Goddess
(One version of many) Listen to the words of the Great Mother
Who of old was called Artemis, Astarte, Demeter, Melusine, Aphrodite,
Cerridwen, Diana, Arianrhod, Brigit, Hecate, Isis and by many other names...
I am the beauty of the green earth, and the white moon, and the mysteries of the waters.
From Me all things proceed and unto Me they must return.
Let My worship be in the heart that rejoices, for all acts of love and pleasure are My rituals.
Let there be beauty and strength, power and compassion, mirth and reverence within you.
And you who seek to know Me, know that your seeking and yearning will
avail you not, unless you know the Mystery: if that which
you seek, you find not within yourself, you will never find it without.

For behold, I have been with you from the beginning, and I am that which is attained at the end of desire.

Charge of the Dark Goddess
by Tiger Eye

Wisdom and empowerment are the gifts of the Dark Goddess of Transformation

My children find their blessed rest in my embrace.
I am the womb from which all things are born.
I am the shadowy, still tomb; all things must come to Me and bare their breasts to
die and be reborn to the Whole.
I am the Sorceress that will not be ruled, the Weaver of Time, the Teacher of Mysteries
I snip the threads that bring children home to me. I slit the throats of the cruel and
drink the blood of the heartless. Swallow your fear and come to me, and you will discover
true beauty, strength and courage.
I am the fury which rips the flesh from injustice.
I am the glowing forge that transforms your inner demons into tools of power. Open yourself
to my embrace and overcome.
I am the glinting sword that protects you from harm.
I am the crucible in which all the aspects of yourself merge together in a rainbow of union

blossom forth, vibrant and renewed. Seek me at the crossroads, and you shall be transformed

I am the fire that kisses the shackles away
I am the cauldron in which all opposites grow to know one another in Truth.
I am the web which connects all things
I am the Healer of all wounds, the Warrior who rights all wrongs in their Time. I make the
weak strong. I make the arrogant humble. I raise up the oppressed and empower the disenfranchised
I am Justice tempered with Mercy. Most importantly child, I am you. I am part of you, and
I am within you. Seek me within and without, and you will be strong.
Know me. Venture into the dark so that you many awaken to Balance, Illumination, and
Wholeness. Take my Love with you everywhere and find the Power within to be who you wish.

Divination -Casting And Reading The Rune Dice
© 1988 by Donald Tyson

First give the dice to the person asking the question. Have them take a moment and blow upon the dice. This act is equivalent to shuffling the cards and allows the person asking the question to get physically involved with the process of casting the dice. If you are divining for yourself, blow on the dice. After a brief moment of concentration on the question, cast the dice over a plain, white cloth.

A simple way to read the rune dice is to cast them and read them as they fall according to their meaning and pattern. The nearest die is read first and stands for the past, or background. The two middle dice represent the present, or ongoing circumstance. The die that lands farthest away shows the future, or the outcome.

Two dice together have complimentary meanings. If they touch, their effects will be united and occur almost simultaneously. If a die lands tipped at an angle against something, its rune is uncertain or changeable. Consider both runes that show on its upper facets, giving more weight to the one exposed. Should a die roll very far away, the outcome of the matter will be delayed a considerable time. The closer together the dice fall, the shorter the time span required to determine the question.

This technique is useful when a very quick reading is desired into a simple and relatively trivial matter.

Those with a knowledge of astrology can also read the runes in relation to the twelve houses of the Zodiac.

Special attention should be given to the first and last runes. The first suggests the general tone of the matter. The last gives a prognistication of whether things will turn out well, or not. If one of the runes signifying the three aettir (Feoh, Haegl or Tyr - see illustration) occurs in a line, that line should be read within the context of that aett. Feoh is physical and mild. Haegl is emotional and severe. Tyr is mental and balanced. For purposes of divination, the runes must be applied to the practical, day-to-day affairs of common life. The meanings given to them are more specific and restricted than the broader esoteric attributions of the runes considered as a whole.

Divination - making of a Druid's wand
© 1996 by John Michael Greer

The Druids Wand can be used in divination when you have no specific question in mind, but want some idea of what is coming up in the next lunar month or twenty-eight days.
Making a Druid's Wand is simple. Cut a straight, twenty-five inches long and half an inch thick branch directly from a tree. (Don't forget to ask the tree's forgiveness and give it your thanks.) Take your branch home and clean it— peel off the bark, use some sandpaper on the rough spots and cut it down to twenty and four-fifths inches long (a Druid cubit).
Taking your Druid's Wand/branch, and using a ruler, mark off two-fifths of an inch on either end. One of these ends you will color black, and the other red. You can use either wood paints or suitable colored markers. This now leaves twenty inches of the wand blank. Again, using your ruler, divide these into twenty one-inch spaces making nineteen small circles around the circumference of the wand.
Your next task is to fill in the letters of the Coelbren of the Bards alphabet along the wand with black paint or marker. Start with the red end of the wand and letter your wand like shown. You may choose to write the figures either horizontally or vertically along the wand.
When all of the figures are filled in, your wand is finished. You can apply a coat of sealing agent to the wand, if you wish, or you can leave it natural. It is recommended that you consecrate your completed wand before you use it. Since you will have to wait until before the next full moon to do this, you should wrap your wand in a piece of clean white cloth until that time.

Dark Moon Ritual
© 1979, 1989, 1999 by Starhawk

(To be performed on the waning moon. A gazing crystal or scrying bowl should be placed in the center of the circle.)

Gather and meditate on a group breath. A Priestess says,
This is the ending before the beginning, the death before new life. Now on the ebb tide the secrets of the shoreline are uncovered by the retreating waves. The Moon is hidden, but the faintest of stars are revealed and those who have eyes to see may read the fates and know the mysteries. The Goddess, whose name cannot be spoken, naked enters the Kingdom of Death. In the most vast silence and stillness, all is possible. We meet in the time of the Crone, to touch the deep power of the dark.
Purify and cast the circle, but do not light the alter candle. Invoke the Goddess and God.

The leader begins a antiphan chant: a repeated bass line, with spontaneous lines interjected between.
Leader: She lies under all, She covers all.
All: She lies under all, She covers all. (Repeat several times.)
Covener: She is the teacher of mysteries.
All: She lies under all, She covers all.
Covener: She is the motion behind form.
All: She lies under all, She covers all.
Covener: (Improvised line).
All: She lies under all, She covers all.

Continue as long as there are energy and inspiration. (This type of chanting requires sensitivity and openness, both to personal inspiration and to others. While at first there may be hesitations, silences, and collisions, in a cohesive group it will soon flow naturally. It is a powerful way of opening the inner voice.)

Build into a wordless power chant, and earth the cone into the scrying bowl or gazing crystal. Scry together, sharing what you see.

Feast, and open the circle.

Full moon rite
Scott Cunningham

Perform this in view of the moon, if possible, you can have crescents, white flowers or other lunar symbols present.
Arrange the altar, cast the circle. Stand before the alter and invoke the Goddess, and God. Gaze at the Moon, feel the energies sinking into you, feel its cool Goddess energy washing over you with power and love. Say these or Similar words
" Wonderous lad of the moon,
You who greets the dusk with her silver kisses
Mistress of night and all Majiks
Who rides the clouds in blackened skies
and spills light upon the cold earth
O Lunar Goddess
Crescent One
Shadow maker and Shadow breaker
Reveal of mysteries of past and present
Puller of Seas, and ruler of women
All-wise Lunar mother
I greet your celestial jewel
At the waxing of its powers
With a rite in your honor
I pray by the Moon
I pray by the Moon
I pray by the Moon

Continue chanting for as long as you will.
When done, thank the Goddess and God.
Release the Circle.

Home Blessing
By Dark Warrior

Blessing a home or room or other space is highly individualistic. Each form of pagan religion or practice has a way to do this, mine is developed from my Shamanic training and bits borrowed from many different ways.
The items needed are a drum or rattle or other chosen noisemaker, a sage wand or other incense that means protection and comfort to you and the place to be consecrated.
I will describe the procedure for a house or apartment, modifying it for a single room should be pretty obvious. The only difference is that, if you are in a house, you can walk around the entire perimeter, if in an apartment or boarding situation, this may not be quite so easily accomplished.
Set the noisemaking device aside for the moment and light the incense or sage. Stand at one door of your house. Close your eyes and breathe in the aroma, thanking the spirit of Incense for the assistance. Wave the incense around the door and ask the spirits of House and Home to please enter in should they desire. Ask that all who would not be condusive to a happy home be banished from this portal.
Move to the center of the room and place the arm holding the incense across your chest, then move it away from you, with the kind of motion that would suggest that you are inviting someone to view or take charge of the entire room. Again, invite the spirits of House and HOme to be present and to make a happy home for you and those who live with you.
Move to the next room and repeat this procedure. Each time you are in a room with a door to the outside, go to that door first and repeat the initial procedure, then go to the center of the room and invoke House and Home for that room.
When you are finished with every room in the house, go outside and stand at the door that will be most used for going to and fro. Using the lit incense, make the mark of the goddess on the door, a circle with a half circle on each side, representing the triple goddess. Don't injure the door if it is a rented place, but try to leave at least, a bit of a mark if possible.
Now, grind the incense out against the door in the center of the circle. As you are making the mark of the Goddess, say something like:

Lord and lady, spirits and friends,
Protect this house [room] from all who would cause it harm,
Protect all who live here and who are loved guests,
Send your spirits to revel with us in the joy of life.

Now, find your drum, rattle or other noise making instrument and go to each room, banging or rattling and asking the spirit of Drum or Rattle to come in and be comfortable. This allows many friendly entities to be comfortable in the house and announces that the place is yours.

Healing -physical pain

A piece of amethyst(clear as possible) or Flourite is needed
Sit in a quiet place and clear your mind of everything you can
Take the Amethyst and hold it in the hand that is closest to the hurt
(if pain is in the center, hold it in your writing hand)
Imagine a soothing light, collecting in your feet and then spreading througout your body. While doing this silently say:
"Bright light, shining light
Heal my hurt with
all thy might" Repeat this as the light move up through your body. When the light reaches your head, expand the light about a foot out.
If it's doesn't work the first time repeat the process.

Lesser Ritual of the Pentagram
From: The Magick of Thelema
By: Lon Milo Duquette

Utilizing the Banishing Earth pentagram, also known as the Flaming Star (left tip to top point, down to right tip, up to left bar, over to right bar, and back to left tip).

Touching the forehead say Ateh (Unto Thee)
Touching the breast say Malkuth (The Kingdom)
Touching the right shoulder, say ve-Geburah (and the Power)
Touching the left shoulder, say ve-Gedulah (and the Glory)
Clasping the hand upon the breast, say le-OLAHM, AMEN (To the Ages, Amen)
Turning to the East, make a pentagram (that of Earth) with the proper weapon (usually the Wand). Say (vibrate) IHVH (Ye-ho-wau).
Turning to the South, the same, but say ADNI (Adonai)
Turning to the West, the same, but say AHIH (Eheieh)
Turning to the North, the same, but say AGLA (Agla)
Extend the arms in the form of a cross say (arms horizontal to the floor and directly out from each side so that the entire body makes a cross of itself)
Before me Raphael;
Behind me Gabriel;
On my right hand, Michael.
On my left hand, Auriel;
For about me flames the Pentagram
And in the Column stands the six-rayed Star.
Touching the forehead say Ateh (Unto Thee)
Touching the breast say Malkuth (The Kingdom)
Touching the right shoulder, say ve-Geburah (and the Power)
Touching the left shoulder, say ve-Gedulah (and the Glory)
Clasping the hand upon the breast, say le-OLAHM, AMEN (To the Ages, Amen)

Mirror Spell
BlackRaven

This spell has been used to reflect harmful energies back to individuals who send them your way. It works like a charm and is very simple.
Get a small mirror (feel free to dissect a compact) and generate all of your energy into the mirror, while holding it with the reflective side away from you, and repeat: "Circle of Reflection, Circle of Protection, May the Sender of All Harm, Feel the Power of this charm."
Place the charged mirror in a window, preferably facing towards the abode of this nasty person! The important thing is to not look into the mirror once it's been charged.

Opening (ending) the Circle
The High Priestess goes to each of the four directions in turn and draws a Banishing Pentacle, saying:

Guardians of the East (South, West, North),
Powers of Air (Fire, Water, Earth), we thank you
For joining in our circle
And we ask for your blessing
As you depart
May there be peace between us
Now and forever. Blessed be.

She raises her athame to the sky and touches it to the earth, then opens her arms and says:

The circle is open, but unbroken,
May the peace of the Goddess
Go in your hearts,
Merry meet, and merry part.
And merry meet again. Blessed be.

God and Goddess of the skies
please respond to my cries
Lift me up in your strong arms
away from those who seek to harm
Shield me from the awful rage
that shall face me day to day
Help me be strong in what I do
and help my heart remain true
Give me strength to face each day
and the hardships before me lain
Let those who I love love me in return
and everyday let me learn
I bid you both my spirit keep
while I'm awake and asleep
So mote it be
